Panthers’ QB Cam Newton was out at his 2nd Annual CMS School Pride Day at Memorial Stadium for his Cam Newton Foundation.
There were forty different middle schools involved, and the program is a great opportunity for the kids in the community to get up close and personal with Cam.
“It’s important for me to give back to my community,” says Newton.
This coming just a short time after Newton had ankle surgery, he responded with “I’m trying to get back to the field.”
The quarterback of the Carolina Panthers has put great pride into his foundation: Cam Newton Foundation-Every 1 Matters.
“These kids give back to me just as much as I give them….you want to impact the community, want kids to be able to come up and ask questions.”
One question that was asked of Cam was: how school was going?
“I’m still in school and trying to be a role model.” The major of interest for Mr. Newton is Sociology, who currently has a 89 in the class and hopes to improve on it come exam time.
